Mark your calendars. The 47th annual Festa Italiana Rockford returns July 31 through August 2, 2026 — three days of authentic Italian food, live music, dance, and community in the heart of Rockford. Presented by the Greater Rockford Italian American Association, this is Rockford’s premier Italian cultural celebration and GRIAA’s most important scholarship fundraiser of the year.
Forty-seven years ago, two men — Noe "Whitey" Marinelli and Bob "Corky" Cotirossi — had an inspiration: a festival that would bring the Italian community in Rockford together for one weekend a year. One big family reunion. What began as a single gathering has grown into one of the most beloved annual traditions in the greater Rockford area.
Festa Italiana 2026 will feature authentic Italian food vendors, a full entertainment lineup with live music performances across multiple stages, the Amici Italiani Adult and Youth dance troupes performing traditional Italian folk dances, bocce, Kids Krafts, carnival rides, a Sunday morning Mass on the festival grounds, and the warm community spirit that has defined Festa for nearly five decades.

Festa Italiana is far more than a festival. As GRIAA’s flagship fundraising event, it is the primary source of funding for the GRIAA Scholarship Committee — which has awarded nearly $700,000 in tuition assistance to Italian American students at local parochial schools over its history.
Every food purchase, every ticket sold, and every sponsorship dollar flows directly back into the community. When you attend Festa Italiana, you’re not just celebrating Italian culture — you’re investing in the next generation of Italian Americans in Rockford.
Festa Italiana runs entirely on volunteer power. Whether you want to help with setup and operations, work a food booth, assist with performances, or simply spread the word — there’s a role for you. Contact GRIAA to learn about volunteering, vendor opportunities, and sponsorship packages.
